    Fascinating!
Do you mind sharing what the screen play is about? Looking forward to the day my work is also considered for the Atelier du Cannes. Any advice on someone just starting out, hoping to be the next dev benegal like figure?

    Rediff has this article:
    Cannes invite for Dev Benegal
    http://ia.rediff.com/movies/2006/mar/31dev.htm

It claims you are Shyam Benegal’s son!! I thought you are his nephew.

    Congratulations, anyway.

hi Dev, congratulations, it is a plesant surprise and ofcourse a worthy offer, which i am sure you deserve. I wish you all success and i am glad to have read about the news on Rediff, while surfing and instinctively, i searched for dev benegal site. And here i am giving you a feedback. Wish i was playing the part, even though i never read your script. I am going through a personal turmoil in my life without direction and wish ‘Vishnu’ in me, triumphs. Good luck and also all the best for Ramanujan film too. Best regards. syd

Although I havent seen the movie Road except for those sneek previews that you have posted here ..

Road in my opinion i feel has a lot of influence from Cinema Paradiso but indianized . Indian ethnicity…( + rural landscapes and culture) off beat tracks..indian values .. son follows father. family business.. cinema . something .fantastic .. magical… entertaining.. and more than that something that gets people together.. everyone loves it.. has..different flavors.. of death. love.. hatred..comedy..reality..dreams.a common element that binds everyone together.. cinema…

Of course. that being said. I have no idea about film making and writing scripts
So.. hats off to you for doing a great job in putting all this together and to be able to come up with a story… a script. putting with all these elements together.. …and creating a unique blend.. but for me more than the idea of the film.. it would be the script, direction and the music that I would rate the highest…..would know better when I watch the film
