I came across this blog while looking other efforts to portray the genius of Ramanujan . Its exciting to know that someone has finally decided to bring him to light by means of cinema. I have been studying his life’s work in order to direct a play on him in the US (Austin, TX).

I would love to offer help in anyway be it promoting the movie or helping with any production aspect of it if you need it. I myself have done quite a bit of theater and short films and run a dance and theatre company in austin and am 25 years old. I am located in the US and will definitely spread the word around here about this wonderful project . I am sure all the math and movie buffs from India will be excited.

and iam an iyengar ..so i can speak his language too..

I’m not sure who will be picked to play the part of Ramanujan, but I would be very interested in auditioning for the part. Although I’m not an actor by profession, we both have alot in common. Else I would hope someone with similar roots is selected to do justice to the depiction of Ramanujan.

I have heard with great pleasure that D Benegal and S Fry are producing a film on the great Indian mathematician Ramanujan. I am very interested in taking on the role of Ramanujan himself with your wishes.

I have acting experience from school, some in drama but more recently in comedy. my father is a Sri Lankan Tamil, I am familiar with the basics of the Tamil language.
I am now a chemistry PhD student in the UK, where I have been studying for ten years. I did my first degree at Oxford University.
I have a good understanding of mathematics, but I admit I am no mathematical genius like Ramanujan.
I am familiar with Tamil culture through my relations in the UK and also in Sri Lanka. Sometimes I get “magical” ideas during the middle of the night when I am working on my chemistry, and have to wake up fully in order to get the ideas down on paper, but unfortunately I have rarely or never been blessed by divine interventions from Namagiri (or other Gods) like Ramanujan. Nevertheless, I feel I can understand his emotions and spirituality. I hope the film will be as much as like the Gandhi film, which is a slow moving “family” type film they would show on a sunday afternoon.

I hope to hear from you with suggestions and I hope to help out in any way.
I am easily guided, easy to talk to, and very determined and a well mannered polite educated person.

It is very interesting to learn about this venture. Ever since I read the review of “The man who knew infinity” I wanted to read that book, but was able to do so only recently. I had already known a little about his “rags to intellectual riches” story, but I never expected it to have all the ingredients of a classic movie script.

Although, I do not have any background in in the tinsel world, I wanted to write a movie script on “Ramanujan” in my free time. This led me to do some research and then I happened to see your blog.

As Mr. Sivasankar has said “CONSCIOUSNESS KNOWS ITS WAY TO ROUTE ITS EMOTIONS TO FORM A MASS EMOTION AND LIKE THOUGHT”.

Some one told me that it was because of my late father that the above professionals managed to complete theri studies other wise they would have been on road.In fact my late father was a contractor and their father was a village chairman.

I relate the true story to say that no one can claim that they have achieved what in their life if not for some great men in their life.

yes,if not for nobel prize winning cv raman and ramanujan,chandraseker would have become a nobel prize winner and like wise,
if not for chandrasker,educated at cambridge and professor at chicago university ,where chandraseker taught two chinese students yang and lee ,both of them went on to win nobel prize in 1955 and cnadraseker in 1983.see the connection.
