My copy of Adobe Lightroom arrived. I ordered it on the last day of the rebate from Amazon.
I believe there are still some copies available at that price.
I’m loving it and living in the Develop module for most of the time. It is a real killer, designed with a photographer in mind.
And it’s fast. On a MacBook Pro and on my PowerBook G4 Titanium. Forget about minimum requirements it even runs on a PowerBook G4 500 with 512MB of RAM!
Where does that leave Apple’s Aperture? The Library and Stacks feature of Aperture are stunning and I will probably use that for my book of photographs for Road, Movie

Hi dev,
I chanced upon your blog as I was searching for a copy of English August’s DVD. I browsed thru the site and realised the trail has kind of gone cold on your aspiration to release the English August DVD. Is it still in the works or you have left it for the dead. Also I must say I found it hilarious that a filmaker like urself has to deal with mundane stuff like mail-in-rebates. I am a great fan of your work and hope you will become a little more prolific like your father

Hi Mr. Benegal
You sound like a total geek! (having been associated with the IITBombay as a researcher I’ve known quite a few geeks well.) Do film-makers today all have to be this way? or is it only some rare ppl like you who seem to combine imagination, sensitivity, and geekery in them?
oh, almost forgot. I share my birthday with you, fellow libran! and, I’m sure you know who we share it with? why the illustrious Lata Mangeshkar, no less!
blog more often, Dev!
Bye.
Aparna.
