YES, Upamanyu and I are planning a movie. We began talking about it several years ago but have not progressed much further. I'm hoping to pick it up after some of my other movies which I am working on now. The screenplay of Ravan & Eddie won the Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Film Festival's Creator's Forum and was an official selection at the eQuinoxe Screenwriters Workshops. I'm hoping the movie will see the light of day sometime soon. Aparna: Why do I sound like a geek? Stanley Kubrick once said if a few directors get together all they talk about is technology. You should read my tribute to Subrata Mitra and perhaps that might give you an insight. In any case I prefer to let my movies speak and not come across as some painful, pompous intellectual. If you are looking for insights into filmmaking they are scattered all over this blog. Like clues one has to discover in life. But if you'd prefer some "gyaan" then there are several websites where directors and filmmakers wax eloquent. And yes, read ALL of Murakami. I am a total fan of his. And Mice and Men. It's a perfect book to read especially if one wants to know how to write a good screenplay.
